Let your dreams grow wings

This was originally going to be a spring canvas, inspired by leaves and mud and new growth.  But I overworked it and it took on a life of its own, and is definitely heading towards summer.  I can’t say I mind too much.

There is a lot of texture in this one, mostly from glueing down dyed scraps of kitchen towel, but also some structure paste and sand texture medium.  There is also heavy use of my new Brusho earth colours.  A few WIP shots:

These are the colours I started with. Acrylic paint dripped on and smooshed with a store card.
Dyed kitchen towel, collage and journalling.

This was the point where I realised it wanted to be a garden fence. I had not planned this.

So, a serendipitous little journey down the garden path.  The sentiment might seem slightly sugary, but I do have a habit of getting lots of bright ideas and not putting them into action, so this is actually a reminder to myself to do something more concrete.
