Two by two

You know that kids’ memory game, Pairs?  I needed a mind-based activity for an event I’m taking part in, so I decided to make my own set of cards.

I am definitely not doing Inktober this year because I’m too busy, but if I was, this totally wouldn’t count.  It’s craft acrylic and Posca paint pens.  I got a nice set of black, white, gold and silver, which is all I really need for adding detail to a coloured background.

The background is simply paint swooshed with a store card (technical term).  There is a bit of a knack to this, which is largely about not putting too much paint on, but it’s one of my go-to techniques so I’m starting to get the hang of it.  Then I Posca’d a random line and dot pattern in white and gold.  After cutting out the cards, I did gold edging and a simple design on the back, and black symbols on the front.  Simple to do, and nicer than using ready-made cards.
